Global cyber security company Kaspersky and the Vietnam Information Security Authority (VISA) under the Ministry of Information and Communications cooperate to organize an annual event to exchange expertise and practice coordinating strategies to respond to cyber threats, one of the activities to improve Vietnam's cyber defense capacity.

Businesses need to be equipped with ways to set up protocols to deal with cyber attacks.
Businesses need to be equipped with ways to set up protocols to deal with cyber attacks.

This year’s event focused on “Cyber Defense: Strengthening Enterprise Resilience”, aiming to help businesses tackle complex and rapidly evolving cyber security threats in the digital environment. At the event, Kaspersky conducted a Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS) session for business leaders and technical teams, to challenge cybersecurity decision-makers and raise awareness of the importance of cross-functional collaboration within the business.

“Cybersecurity is not just the responsibility of technical teams, but must be considered a problem for all departments and functions in the enterprise, starting with senior leadership making strategic decisions and comprehensive measures to protect the overall business operations and data,” said Genie Sugene Gan, Director of Government Relations and Public Policy for Asia Pacific, Japan, Middle East, Turkey and Africa at Kaspersky.

Mr. Le Van Tuan, Director of the Authority of Information Security, acknowledged the long-term partnership between Kaspersky and the Authority of Information Security, in which "Kaspersky has made significant contributions to the cyber security ecosystem in Vietnam through sharing expertise and valuable information resources to help the Authority of Information Security carry out cyber security work. This year's KIPS training course marks a step forward in building cyber security capacity, making an important contribution to a safer digital future."

According to the Information Security Authority, cyber attacks have seen a significant increase in recent months, with 1,723 cyber attacks in June 2024 alone, an increase of 46.3% compared to the same period last year. Responding to these incidents requires businesses to continuously implement response and warning procedures to ensure the safety of business assets and business information. Therefore, businesses need to be equipped with ways to establish protocols to deal with cyber attacks.
