On the evening of December 6, a large number of people came to the 2nd Cho Lon Food Story Festival which just opened at the District 5 Cultural Center, Ho Chi Minh City.

Mingling with the crowd, Ashley and her friends patiently waited to see the performances at the festival's opening ceremony.
Ashley shared with Tuoi Tre Online that she and her group of friends from Australia had been traveling in Vietnam for a month. Ashley had tried delicious Vietnamese dishes such as banh mi and banh xeo.
Today, a Vietnamese friend introduced us to the Cho Lon Food Story Festival. Ashley and her friends got to try more typical dishes of the Chinese community such as dimsum, xiao long bao... and found it very interesting.
"I'm so sorry we have to go back to Australia this weekend. We will definitely be back next year to continue our culinary experience here," said Ashley.

Singer Nguyen Phi Hung attended the opening ceremony not as a singer but as a judge of the Delicious Food District 5 clip contest promoting cuisine.
He happily said: "As a judge, I have an extremely diverse and rich culinary map of the Chinese as well as District 5 through the clips that young people introduce with a youthful and attractive style.
I hope that the food festival will be held regularly so that city residents can have more profound cultural culinary experiences in District 5."

Temporarily close the restaurant participating in the food festival
This is the 2nd Cho Lon Food Festival. was held. If the first time there were only 28 participating units, this year the number of booths has nearly doubled.
Walking around the fair, you will come across familiar yet strange names such as: Ca Chon bitter melon, Xa Tay market chive cake, Tang bread, Hai Nam cool water, Ky Hoa instant noodles...

Mr. On Vinh An, owner of Ca Chon bitter melon shop, said he had to temporarily close his shop at Phung Hung market (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) for a few days to participate in the fair. "I closed my shop for a few days but did not see any loss because this was a very meaningful event," Mr. An shared.
Cho Lon Food Festival The second time there were many noodle-related dishes, along with cakes typical of District 5 and Cho Lon area.
In addition, the festival also sells baking ingredients, spices and many interesting activities such as making fresh noodles, watching noodle dance performances, watching lion and dragon dances and nightly Vietnamese-Chinese cultural exchanges.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Phuong, Vice Chairwoman of District 5 People's Committee, said the festival is a prominent tourism event of District 5 in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general at the end of the year. The festival is also included in the series of activities of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week in 2024.
District 5 People's Committee will develop Cho Lon Food Festival into a typical annual culinary tourism festival product, contributing to positioning, promoting and affirming the culinary brand "Delicious Food District 5" to reach domestic and foreign tourists.
The 2nd Cho Lon Food Story Festival takes place from December 6 to 8.
