Overview of the cooperation signing ceremony
The event marked an important step in the implementation of medical cooperation between the two countries, and at the same time concretized the Party and State's policy on breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, and people's health care in the spirit of Resolutions 57 and 72 of the Politburo and the Pharmaceutical Industry Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2045.
Under the agreement, Medsintez will transfer advanced biological drug production technology at the VNVC Vaccine and Biological Products Factory; at the same time, the two sides will coordinate research and development, clinical trials and distribution of high-quality pharmaceutical products in Vietnam and the ASEAN region.

Many modern biological drugs are expected to be produced in Vietnam such as: Recombinant Albumin, Recombinant Insulin, disposable and reusable Insulin pens, diabetes treatment drugs (liraglutide, semaglutide), anticoagulant Heparin (prevention and treatment of thrombotic complications causing blood vessel blockage leading to stroke, myocardial infarction, pulmonary embolism), antiviral drug Triazavirin, follicle stimulating hormone (used in infertility treatment)...
In particular, the two sides agreed to coordinate clinical research on the drug Triazavirin in the treatment of Dengue fever - a disease with no specific treatment, causing hundreds of thousands of cases and dozens of deaths each year in Vietnam.
Speaking at the event, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko emphasized: “The cooperation between Vietnam and Russia will bring mutual benefits, aiming at the highest goal of protecting people's health and improving the quality of the healthcare sector.”
Minister Dao Hong Lan, on behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of Health, expressed her gratitude to the Russian Government and Ministry of Health for supporting Vietnam in human resource training, technology transfer, and the provision of vaccines and medical equipment over the past decades. She affirmed: “The cooperation between research institutes, high-tech medical centers and pharmaceutical enterprises of the two countries will open up many practical development opportunities, especially in key areas such as cancer treatment, drug production, vaccines and medical biological products.”
