From the early afternoon of September 27, officers and soldiers of the Thuan An Border Guard Station, along with militia and local authorities, urgently helped people reinforce their houses and evacuate before the storm made landfall.
Thuan An Ward is ready to evacuate 711 households/2,471 people to safe shelters; check and reinforce Thuan An beach area at risk of landslides.
Currently, the Border Guard Stations on the sea border line under the Hue City Border Guard are coordinating with local authorities and forces to support people in reinforcing their houses; propagandizing and mobilizing households in vulnerable areas to evacuate to safe places.
On the land border, Quang Nham Border Guard Station mobilized officers and soldiers to coordinate with people in Hop Thuong village to harvest summer-autumn rice, promptly transport and preserve it to minimize damage; coordinate with local authorities to review and plan to evacuate people to a safe place.
To date, all of Hue City’s more than 1,100 boats have entered safe shelters; nearly 99% of the summer-autumn rice crop has been harvested. In addition, a plan has been developed to evacuate about 10,000 households/33,000 people in coastal areas, lagoons, and high-risk areas to safe places.
On the same afternoon, inspecting the response work for storm No. 10 at Radar Station 3511, Phong Quang Ward, Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh reminded the officers and soldiers of the station to strengthen coordination with local Party committees and authorities, prepare plans to respond to storm No. 10, and absolutely not be passive or surprised.
