Which bank pays the highest interest?

VietA Bank has just joined the wave of lowering deposit interest rates since today (May 23). This is the first time VietA Bank has reduced deposit interest rates since the beginning of May.

Interest rates mobilized on online channels for terms of 1-5 months remain at 5.5%/year. However, banks have reduced interest rates by 0.2% for terms from 6 months to under 18 months. Terms of 18 months or more have reduced interest rates by 0.3%.

With this reduction, the interest rate for 6-month term deposits is now 8.3%/year. The 7-11 month term is now 8.4%/year; the 12 month term or more is now 8.5%/year.

However, VietA Bank notes that it is still possible to apply a different interest rate than the announced table to some customers and not exceed the maximum interest rate prescribed by the State Bank from time to time.

Previously, VietA Bank was the bank that maintained the second highest deposit interest rate in the banking system, only after ABBank.

ABBank is the only bank that announces an interest rate of 9%/year for a 13-month term and 9.2%/year for a term of 15 months or more. This interest rate is applied to online and in-app deposits.

Similarly,VIB Bank also reduced its deposit interest rates. Online deposit interest rates for deposits from 300 million VND to under 3 billion VND, with a term of 7-8 months, decreased by 0.2% to 7.7%/year. 9-11 month term decreased by 0.1% to 7.8%/year; 15-18 month term decreased by 0.2% to 7.9%/year.

Meanwhile, Orient Commercial Bank (OCB ) announced a second reduction in deposit interest rates, since the beginning of May.

Online deposit interest rates for individual customers with terms of 6-15 months have decreased slightly by 0.1%. Deposits with terms of 6 months are now 8%/year and 8.1%/year for terms of 9-15 months. Terms of 18 months or more still maintain an interest rate of 7.9%/year. The interest rate for 1-month deposits is 5.3%/year, and for 3-month deposits is 5.45%/year.

TPBank also joined in lowering deposit interest rates. This bank reduced 0.1% for electronic savings deposits. Currently, the deposit interest rate for a 6-month term at TPBank is 7.6%/year, for a 12-month term is 7.7%/year, for an 18-month term is 7.5%/year, for a 24-month term is 7.4%/year and for a 30-month term is 7.3%/year.

This is the second time this month that TPBank has announced a reduction in deposit interest rates for the above terms. The interest rates for 1-3 month terms are still maintained at 5.45%/year by TPBank.

The remaining banks did not change interest rates today.

Yesterday (May 22), the market recorded 3 banks announcing reductions in deposit interest rates including VietBank, KienLong Bank and Saigonbank.

Since the beginning of May, a series of banks have reduced deposit interest rates, including: VietA Bank, VIB, OCB, Eximbank, MSB, VPBank, TPBank, Vietcombank, Agribank, VietinBank, BIDV, KienLongBank, NamA Bank, NCB, Saigonbank, PVCombank, HDBank, OceanBank, Sacombank, Techcombank, BacA Bank, and VietBank.

Banks that reduced interest rates twice during this period are NCB, VietBank, Eximbank, VPBank, KienLong Bank and Saigonbank, TPBank, and OCB.
