The State Bank donated 6 billion VND to Nghe An to support flood recovery and to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

On July 27, in Nghe An, the State Bank of Vietnam organized a donation to support the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha) in Nghe An province.

Attending the program were comrades: Nguyen Thi Hong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Party Secretary, Governor of the State Bank; Dao Minh Tu - Permanent Deputy Governor of the State Bank, Chairman of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union; Deputy Governors of the State Bank: Doan Thai Son, Pham Thanh Ha; and leaders of departments, bureaus, units under the State Bank and commercial banks.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Tran Thi Thu Huong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

At the ceremony, representatives of the State Bank presented Nghe An province with 6 billion VND, of which 3 billion VND came from the contribution of 1 day's salary of officials, civil servants, public employees and workers in the banking sector to support the program of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; the remaining 3 billion VND came from the Social Security Fund of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union to support the province in overcoming the consequences of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha).

Speaking at the event, Governor of the State Bank Nguyen Thi Hong expressed her deep sympathy and sharing with the Party Committee, Government and People of Nghe An province for the damages caused by natural disasters. Nghe An is a province that has suffered heavy losses from many natural disasters such as heavy rains and floods, greatly affecting people's lives. In order to promptly contribute to helping the government and people of Nghe An province quickly overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, the State Bank's Board of Directors has decided to support Nghe An province with 3 billion VND from the Social Security Fund of the Vietnam Banking Trade Union.

At the same time, the State Bank's Board of Directors also supported 3 billion VND in funding to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for Nghe An province from the contribution of 1 day's salary of officials, union members and employees of the Banking industry for the emulation movement "Join hands to eliminate 1,000 temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide in response to the peak period of "The whole country joins hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" under the direction of the Prime Minister .

"We hope that with today's support, the banking sector will contribute to helping the province quickly overcome the consequences of the storm, and at the same time, support people in difficulty to improve housing conditions, gradually improving the quality of life," the Governor emphasized.

On behalf of the local leaders, Comrade Bui Thanh An - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee sent sincere thanks to Governor of the State Bank Nguyen Thi Hong and all officials, civil servants, employees and workers of the banking sector. In recent days, due to the impact of storm No. 3 and the post-storm circulation, Nghe An has suffered a historic flood, causing serious damage to people and property. Currently, localities are urgently overcoming the consequences.

Comrade Bui Thanh An said that the 6 billion VND support from the banking sector on this occasion is a valuable sharing, contributing to helping the province have more resources to better care for households in difficulty, at the same time, promptly overcome the damage caused by natural disasters. Accordingly, the provincial leaders also committed to using the funding for the right purpose, effectively and practically, thereby spreading the humanistic value of the program to all classes of people.

"With the spirit of sharing and high community responsibility, the banking industry continues to demonstrate a proactive and positive role in accompanying localities to overcome difficulties. Especially the spiritual and material sharing, adding strength to the people in the flooded areas of Nghe An to soon overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives," emphasized comrade Bui Thanh An.
