On May 28, the number of new domestic Covid-19 cases was the lowest in recent weeks.

According to the Ministry of Health 's announcement on the Covid-19 epidemic, today the country recorded 341 new Covid-19 cases. This is the lowest number of new cases in recent weeks. Previously, from the beginning of May to May 27, each day recorded from 800 to 3,300 new cases.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the country has recorded more than 11.6 million Covid-19 cases, ranking 13th out of 231 countries and territories. With a rate of 117,327 cases per million people, Vietnam ranks 120th out of 231 countries and territories.

Health departments reported that on May 27, 187 patients were declared cured, with no deaths due to Covid-19. Since the beginning of the epidemic, more than 10.637 million Covid-19 cases in Vietnam have been cured.

At the treatment facilities, there are 35 patients on oxygen. Of these, 26 cases are on oxygen through masks; 6 cases are on high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC); 1 case is on non-invasive ventilation and 2 severe cases require invasive ventilation.

The total number of deaths due to Covid-19 in Vietnam since the beginning of the epidemic is 43,206 cases, accounting for 0.4% of the total number of infections. The total number of deaths ranks 26th out of 231 countries and territories. The number of deaths per million people ranks 141st out of 231 countries and territories.

Compared to Asia, the total number of deaths ranks 7th out of 50 countries and territories; deaths per million people ranks 29th out of 50 countries and territories.

Regarding the progress of Covid-19 vaccination, the Ministry of Health said that on May 27, 111 more doses were injected. Since the beginning of the vaccination campaign, more than 266.4 million doses have been injected nationwide. Of which, the number of doses injected for people aged 18 and over is nearly 223.74 million; the number of doses injected for people aged 12-17 is nearly 24 million; the number of doses injected for people aged 5-11 is more than 18.7 million.
