Happy day at Tan Long model residential area

Contributing to helping the commune reach the advanced new rural finish line in 2023, the Catholic people of Tan Long village, Viet Tien commune (Thach Ha - Ha Tinh ) are more excited to prepare for the National Great Unity Day.

Tan Long village has 187 households with 669 people, of which 21 households with nearly 100 people are Catholics. Life mainly depends on agricultural production and small-scale trading, so in the past, the life of the people in the village faced many difficulties, the average income per capita in 2019 only reached 35 million VND. Therefore, when entering the construction of the new rural area, Tan Long village encountered many difficulties in mobilizing resources, most of the young workers went to work far away...

However, with determination and efforts, the authorities at all levels have aroused the strength of solidarity in each person. In 2021, the village has successfully built a model new rural residential area. Over the past 2 years, after reaching the finish line, the people of Tan Long village have continued to work enthusiastically, maintaining and improving the achieved criteria, becoming a typical village of Viet Tien commune in building new rural areas.

Mr. Le Van Khoa - Party Cell Secretary and Head of Tan Long Village said: “After 2 years of reaching the finish line, we have maintained and upgraded 10/10 criteria for the model new rural residential area. The whole village has 4 model gardens, 85 business models, including 2 carpentry production and business models with an income of hundreds of millions of VND/year. The average income per capita in 2023 of the village is estimated at 48 million VND. To achieve that success, in addition to the direction of the authorities at all levels, it is also thanks to the consensus and efforts of all the people of all religions in the village.”

These days, the people of Tan Long village are even more excited when Viet Tien commune has just been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting the advanced NTM standards in 2023, and at the same time the village has been chosen as the focal point for the Great National Unity Day of the commune. Organizations, unions and people of Tan Long village are enthusiastically carrying out preparations for the festival to take place successfully such as: landscaping, environmental sanitation, practicing art programs, decorating the village cultural house...

Leaders of Viet Tien Commune People's Committee directed Tan Long village officials to carefully prepare for the national solidarity festival, which was held in the village.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hua (73 years old, parishioner and also the Head of the Elderly Association of Tan Long village) expressed: "The village being chosen to host the National Great Unity Day of the commune is an honor for us. Therefore, assigned to renovate the landscape and clean the environment, the village elders are actively trimming the green hedges on the roads, and at the same time encouraging their children and grandchildren to do the work to make the festival more meaningful, increasing solidarity in the community."

The art program taking place during the festival is also being actively rehearsed by the Women's Union in coordination with the village's Youth Union. Ms. Phan Thi Huong - Head of the Women's Union of Tan Long village said: "The program includes 5 dance and singing performances, folk dances... praising the homeland, the country and the spirit of great solidarity that we have organized and rehearsed for nearly a month. Up to now, all performances are ready to serve the people."

Choosing Tan Long village as the venue for the 2023 National Great Unity Day is a recognition of the efforts of the cadres and people over the past time. In particular, Tan Long is a typical example in the great unity movement to build new rural areas.

On this occasion, Viet Tien also directed departments, branches, organizations and all villages to organize the festival solemnly with many exciting cultural and sports activities. This is also an opportunity for people to exchange, meet and share joy after the efforts with the commune to build advanced new rural areas.
