Despite his poor health, People's Artist Minh Vuong still tries to accompany young artists to wards and communes in Ho Chi Minh City to sing for people on special occasions.

He happily confided to Tuoi Tre Online : "I feel very happy singing these days. From the April 30th ceremony to today, celebrating the 80th anniversary of National Day, from North to South, the State has organized many meaningful and attractive programs.

As an artist myself, I can only contribute lyrics and songs but I feel very happy. Simply bringing joy to people on these special days, seeing them smile brightly makes me happy too, feeling warm with the important holidays."

Because of that joy, whenever Minh Vuong was well, he immediately accepted to sing. He chose to perform traditional songs such as Ve dat Cu Chi, Huyen Thoai Dai Tuong Vo Nguyen Giap, Khat vong rong vang ...

In the program on the evening of September 2 at Tan Nhut commune, artist Minh Vuong performed the work Thieng Linh K9 . This is an ancient song written by composer Dang Minh based on a poem by Major General Le Minh Hieu.

Artist Minh Vuong said this is a touching folk song written about the K9 area, a place considered a sacred relic, associated with many memories of Uncle Ho.

Thoại Miêu: Singing on holidays helps forget age

During the September 2nd holiday, People's Artist Thoai Mieu performed almost without a day off. In addition to performing with Tran Huu Trang Theater, she also performed in Dong Thap .

She told Tuoi Tre Online that she was very surprised to receive an invitation to Hanoi to receive a State certificate of merit honoring outstanding artists with many contributions to the country's culture.

She said: "I went to Hanoi on August 23 and was very honored to receive the certificate of merit. I also took this opportunity to walk around and enjoy the atmosphere welcoming the 80th anniversary of National Day.

Oh my god, it was like reliving the excitement and excitement of April 30 in my city. People flocked to participate in the events. In the middle of a sunny afternoon, I visited Uncle Ho's mausoleum and it was so crowded with people from everywhere wanting to visit Uncle Ho on this occasion."

Thoại Miêu said if she hadn't been stuck with shows at the Tran Huu Trang Theater, she would have stayed in Hanoi to fully enjoy the special occasion.

Participating in performances for the people of Ho Chi Minh City during the September 2nd holiday, Thoai Mieu chose meaningful performances such as Please rest assured, Mom, Wild orchid branch, Anh Ba Hung ...

She said the performance of the reformed opera excerpt The durian tree in bloom was once famous in the city's art troupe. "People are familiar with the image of Thoai Mieu with the character Tuyet Mai in the revolutionary opera The Durian Tree in Bloom .

However, if I sing again, I want to sing with Ms. Le Thuy. Because she is busy, the song "The Durian Tree Blossoms" will be performed by young artists" - Thoai Mieu said.
