On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), Hanoi will organize more than 50 unique cultural and artistic programs. One of the main highlights is the series of events called Hanoi - Touching the memory.
According to the organizers, this series of events is an interweaving of time, space, culture, art and reality. At the Music Garden (Hanoi Opera House), the space of Hanoi during the subsidy period will be recreated through street scenes, clanging trams, and household appliances that are no longer seen in life today...
The event officially begins on October 5 and runs through October 31. The tickets to experience the program's series of activities will be modeled after the subsidy period's ration stamps.
In particular, the two music nights “Phu Quang – Love Remains” (taking place on the evening of October 25 and 26 at the Hanoi Opera House) will be the highlight of the series of events with the participation of excellent singers, who have been associated with many love songs of Phu Quang: People's Artist Tan Minh, Ho Quynh Huong, Khanh Linh, Quang Minh (OPlus group)...

Taking on the role of music director, musician Giang Son shared: “We chose the theme of Love Remains , which is love for people, love for couples, love for Hanoi. The songs are all arranged in a fresh way to create emotions for both the singers and the audience.”
Meanwhile, People's Artist Tan Minh has moved audiences to tears many times when performing Phu Quang's love songs. Sharing with Dan Viet, he once said: "I feel extremely happy to have accompanied him for many years, before he passed away. I also feel very lucky because in my musical career I was able to meet him, someone with whom I can understand all the thoughts and feelings in his works.
Most importantly, his music suits me. It is because of that compatibility that I love his works so much, love them to the core. I also promise that I will always sing his songs, sing until I feel I can no longer sing.

The program also brings singers who have rarely sung Phu Quang's music before, such as Khanh Linh and Ho Quynh Huong. Sharing about this choice, musician Giang Son said that those who have never sung Phu Quang's music or rarely sing it will also have different "feelings" and creativity, bringing diversity in the way of expression.
When asked whether Khanh Linh's voice is suitable for the narratives in Phu Quang's love songs, the female singer shared: "Phu Quang's music is also gentle and soaring, not always filled with conflict, suffering, and agony... It is undeniable that the success of his predecessors when performing Phu Quang's songs, however, I also have a different perspective and feeling about his music, in which there are whispers, gentleness, and depth."
Musician Phu Quang was born in 1949 in Phu Tho, originally from Hanoi. He studied at the Hanoi Conservatory of Music (Vietnam National Academy of Music), majoring in trumpet and orchestra conducting. In 1982, the musician worked at the Vietnam Symphony Orchestra. In 1986, he transferred to the Music and Dance Department, Department of Culture and Information of Ho Chi Minh City.
He is known as the musician of Hanoi with a series of works that have stood the test of time such as: Dear Hanoi Street, Dreaming of a Far Away Place, Nostalgia for Winter, Silent Night of Hanoi, Afternoon in Tay Ho, Hanoi on the Day of Return...
