Speaking at the 2025-2026 school year welcoming program on the morning of September 12, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung - President of Hanoi Open University emphasized: Resolution 71-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthrough in education and training development (Resolution 71) is a turning point, creating many new opportunities for the country's education.
According to her, Resolution 71 sets out the requirement to build an open, flexible, interconnected education system that promotes lifelong learning – something that Hanoi Open University has consistently implemented for over 30 years. The new point, which is also the spirit that the school always pursues, is the viewpoint: education is not only the “top national policy”, but also the decisive factor in the destiny of the nation.

“We consider this an opportunity and a responsibility: to continue affirming our position as a pioneering university in open, flexible and modern models; to expand training professions in line with social needs; and at the same time, to promote digital transformation; to improve the quality of human resources, thereby directly contributing to the country's development,” Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung emphasized.
According to the Principal of Hanoi Open University, entering the new school year, the school focuses on 5 strategic priorities:
Firstly, innovate training programs and methods in a modern, interdisciplinary direction, linked to practice, encouraging creativity and entrepreneurship.
Second, strongly develop key industries such as Information Technology, Tourism, Language, Economics, Food Technology, etc. to meet human resource needs in the context of international integration.

Third, promote the application of artificial intelligence and digital technology in management, teaching and research; build a flexible and personalized learning environment for each student.
Fourth, strengthen international cooperation, expand joint training and scientific research programs with prestigious schools and organizations in the region and around the world.
Fifth, take care of students' lives, especially those in difficult circumstances and remote areas, ensuring opportunities for study, training and comprehensive development.

In her message to new students, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung affirmed: entering the university door is a journey of independence, initiative and responsibility. Consider knowledge as luggage, discipline as a measure and humanity as a foundation.
“Hopefully, each student of Hanoi Open University will not only study to have a career, but also learn to know how to live, to contribute; nurture the desire to rise up, dare to dream, dare to act, to become a global citizen but always keep in their heart the love for their homeland and country” - Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhung expressed.
