Warm gratitude activities

Demonstrating the morality of “ When drinking water, remember its source ”, every year, the Vietnam Journalists Association of the province coordinates with Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station to organize many activities to pay tribute to martyr journalists and families of policy beneficiaries, demonstrating the responsibility and affection of today’s journalist generation towards their predecessors.

On the occasion of the holidays, the unit organized a delegation to visit and give gifts to the families of 19 martyr journalists in the province. Each gift was worth 1.5 million VND (including 1 million VND in cash). Although the gifts were not large in material terms, they contained deep sentiments and were a thank you to the journalists who sacrificed their lives in the struggle for national independence and freedom. In addition, the unit also actively participated in social security activities such as visiting and supporting children of martyr journalists ; coordinating training and job referrals to help them stabilize their lives.

Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association of the province, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station - Chau Hong Kha visited and presented Tet gifts to the family of martyr journalist Phan Khuong (An Vinh Ngai commune, Tan An city)

Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association of the province, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station - Chau Hong Kha said: “We always respect the contributions of previous generations of journalists. They worked in very difficult conditions, many of them sacrificed their lives while working. Today's acts of gratitude are a way for us to express our gratitude and preserve the tradition of revolutionary journalism .”

In particular, from January 1, 2016 to present, Long An Newspaper (now Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station) has taken care of Vietnamese Heroic Mother Le Thi Hanh (Phuoc Lai Commune, Can Giuoc District) as a gesture of deep gratitude. Implementing the model of Filial Children, on holidays and Tet, members visit, clean the house, and chat with the mother like children in the family. Each visit is not only a responsibility but also a sacred gratitude to the mother who sacrificed her own happiness for today's peace .

Accompanying social security

During their work, many journalists have approached the less fortunate and, driven by their love for the profession, they chose to write about those stories as a mission. With their pens and lenses, journalists have spread the spirit of "mutual love and support" through articles that touch people's hearts, calling for support from the community. The program "Overcoming Danger" bears the humanitarian imprint of Long An Newspaper and Radio and Television Station. With a duration of about 15 minutes, broadcast periodically at 7:45 p.m. every Wednesday, the program has raised billions of VND to support cases of serious illness and especially difficult circumstances. The touching footage and true stories not only help the characters overcome adversity but also arouse compassion and empathy from television audiences.

Journalist Yen Mai - a member of the program's production team, shared: "We always put our heart first because besides our duty, we also have the social responsibility of journalists. Each character and each situation is carefully researched to reflect the truth, touching the hearts of viewers. Hopefully, the program will spread more widely so that the less fortunate will have more opportunities to accompany and support them in overcoming illnesses and challenges in life." Only by spending a day with the crew can we truly feel the sense of responsibility, dedication and kindness of the journalists in their journey to accompany the unfortunate.

Each trip is a time for us to listen, share and contribute a small part to motivate students to overcome difficulties to study well, and for people in remote areas to reduce some of their hardships. That is also the way we spread the social responsibility of young journalists today”.
