On September 1, the road to Tam Dao town, Tam Dao district ( Vinh Phuc ) was congested for many hours because of thousands of tourists coming for the holiday. The road was packed, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

Speaking to VietNamNet, Mr. Dang Hoang Lam, Secretary of the Tam Dao Town Party Committee, informed that the road started to get congested at 11:00 a.m. this morning and was cleared at 2:00 p.m.

According to Mr. Lam, the locality expects to welcome 40,000 tourists during this holiday.

"Currently, the mountain top is clear. However, on the way up, vehicles still have difficulty moving," the leader added.

Tourists crowded the Lao Cai border gate on the first day of the September 2nd holiday . From early morning, although it was not time to complete exit procedures, thousands of people crowded the Lao Cai International Border Gate Management Center to complete procedures to travel to China.
