In the morning, he took his child to school, picked him up at noon so he could eat and rest, took him to school again in the afternoon, and picked him up late in the evening after school. All these times, he carried his child on his back.

“The father of Chuan Zhuyu never asked for help from his son’s teachers or classmates in taking him to school. He insisted on carrying his son to class himself to limit any requests. It seemed that he was very reluctant to accept help from others,” said Ms. Li.
