On March 8, the Ca Mau Center for Clean Water and Environmental Sanitation reported that drought has caused localized water shortages in many areas, causing more than 3,000 households in the province to currently lack water for daily activities. The dry season comes, to have water for daily use, people in Bien Bach commune just wait for boats carrying clean water to sell.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung (living in Bien Bach commune) said that although he saves as much as possible by using salt water to wash dishes, shower (then rinse with fresh water)... but since the beginning of the dry season until now, his family has had to pay more than 2.5 million VND for water. Although there is a water pipe to Mr. Tung's house, for the past 5 months not a drop of water has flowed through the pipe.
