On the evening of September 9, social networks spread information that boatmen at Huong Pagoda (Huong Son Commune, My Duc District, Hanoi ) brought boats to rescue people in flooded areas in Thai Nguyen City, Thai Nguyen Province.

The post shared a photo of a ferry terminal with hundreds of boats, with the caption: "People from Huong Pagoda (My Duc district, Hanoi) mobilized all boats to go to the flooded area of ​​Thai Nguyen to provide support that night."

The leader of the People's Committee of Huong Son commune said that in reality, there were boats from Huong Pagoda going to support the flood in Thai Nguyen city, but not to the extent as shared on social networks.

According to this person, before the flood situation rose and serious inundation in Thai Nguyen city, some rescue vehicle owners connected with boat owners at Huong pagoda to bring boats to Thai Nguyen city to support people.

So far, 4 cars carrying a total of 12 boats have set off for Thai Nguyen City. Commune leaders said this was a private activity, not through any organization or government.

Due to the influence of storm No. 3, many areas in Thai Nguyen province have heavy to very heavy rain.

Rainfall is generally 100-200mm, locally many places have rainfall over 250mm such as Yen Do commune, Phu Luong district (296.6mm), Bao Linh commune, Dinh Hoa district (250.8mm).

Heavy and continuous rains in the upstream districts and Bac Kan province caused the water level of the Cau River to rise. Flooding occurred on some roads and residential areas in the center of Thai Nguyen city: Quang Vinh, Dong Bam, Trung Vuong, Tuc Duyen, Cao Ngan, Cam Gia wards... spillway areas, spillways, pontoon bridges, and key dykes along both banks of the Cau River downstream.

On social media, Thai Nguyen people continuously posted messages asking for help, looking for buoys, lifeboats and boats to rescue their loved ones in danger. Many individuals, organizations and groups shared contact information so that those in distress could call to report their location and then move to the rescue.
