Recently, people in Co To beach ( Quang Ninh province) recorded the image of a group of 3 whales, about 20 meters long, suddenly rising from the water surface and playing, crawling over each other, despite the many ships and boats passing by around.
Fisherman Vuong Ngoc Thuy (55 years old) said that the whale appeared at about 3:00 p.m. on September 22. At that time, his boat was fishing about 200 meters away from the area where the whale appeared, so he could observe it very clearly. At one point, the whale's mouth even rose about 2 meters above the water surface, catching its prey. The whale appeared continuously for 1 hour before disappearing in this sea area.

Living in Co To island district since 1979, Mr. Thuy said this was the first time he witnessed this amazing event and used his phone to record it for everyone to see.
According to Co To people, for nearly 2 months now, a pod of 4-5 whales has been regularly appearing in the area from Ha Mai to Dau Trau, Co To island district. Notably, the fish swim very close to shore, about 700m, to look for prey, which are small fish.
Previously, rare dolphins and sea turtles had appeared in the sea of Co To. The appearance of whales is good news for the people and authorities of Co To island district, as this island has been making efforts to protect the marine environment over the past time.
