What do Americans think about the allegations against Mr. Trump?

A new Quinnipiac University poll finds that many Americans believe the charges against Donald Trump are more political than simply legal.

A Quinnipiac University survey from June 15-19 of 1,776 Americans said that many Americans affirmed that the federal charges against former President Donald Trump were politically motivated.

Two-thirds of respondents (62%) said the lawsuit filed by the US Justice Department was politically motivated, and 34% said the federal charges against Mr. Trump were related to legal regulations.

Ninety-one percent of Republicans, 28% of Democrats, and 65% of independents believe the lawsuit is politically motivated. Meanwhile, 64% of men and 59% of women surveyed said the lawsuit is heavily partisan and politically motivated.

Regarding the upcoming developments, 51% support criminal prosecution of Mr. Trump related to the illegal storage of classified documents after leaving the White House.

According to Reuters , court records released on June 20 show that federal judge Aileen Cannon in Florida has issued a ruling setting August 14 as the start date for former President Trump's trial in a prosecution related to his handling of classified documents.

However, experts say the trial will not begin so soon, as it will take time to resolve complex legal issues before the jury can hear testimony and present evidence.
