Although the Southern region is entering the end of the rainy season (rainfall is forecast to decrease this December), there are still unseasonal showers, so pepper and durian farmers need to monitor...
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at the beginning of this week, December 4, the North and North Central regions will still be cold (temperature 19-21 degrees Celsius) but will gradually warm up towards the weekend, with sunny weather from noon to afternoon, and only cold at night and in the morning. Heavy rain in the Central region will also gradually decrease from December 4.
According to the Center for Hydrometeorological Technology (under the General Department of Hydrometeorology), in the South, from December 5 to 8, there will be showers in the afternoon and evening, sunny during the day, with air temperatures ranging from 23.8 to 31 degrees Celsius.
In the Southeast, pepper plants are currently in the fruit-bearing stage, requiring soil moisture of about 70%-90%. However, in some places, soil moisture only reaches 37% (for example, Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) while in some places soil moisture reaches 97% (Tay Ninh).
Therefore, meteorological and hydrological experts note that pepper growers in the Southeast (especially Ba Ria - Vung Tau) need to provide enough water to ensure pepper grain yield and quality.
On the contrary, durian trees in the Southeast are currently in the budding stage and do not like weather with too much humidity, so farmers in Tay Ninh need to reduce water and remove weeds so that the durian can differentiate flower buds.
