The reason why Do Mixi's Youtube channel was hacked

As of noon on April 2, Do Mixi's (real name Phung Thanh Do) Youtube channel with 7.31 million followers was still being hacked.

Previously, Do Mixi's Youtube channel was hacked, the channel name, avatar and cover photo were changed from MixiGaming to Ripple, a payment system using blockchain technology. All videos on this channel disappeared.

At the same time, hackers broadcast two live videos on this Youtube channel predicting the price of XRP, a cryptocurrency.

In the live video, the hacker sent a link to entice people to buy XRP. According to experts, this link contains malicious code to steal users' information.

As of now, the two live streams have ended with a total of over 320,000 views.

Before his Youtube channel with more than 7 million followers was hacked, Do Mixi once went on livestream to joke that "he no longer saw his Youtube channel and Facebook hacked, and conveniently introduced a few friends who are experts in Facebook security".

Do Mixi started his career as a video game streamer and quickly attracted viewers thanks to his humorous way of talking. Besides, Do Mixi also often livestreams to share his life and work experiences and motivate viewers, especially young people.

According to a security expert, the hacking of Do Mixi's Youtube channel may have come from the negligence of the account owner or the person authorized to manage when the computer installed some unlicensed game software, then through cracking tools caused the device to be infected with malware.

"Do Mixi often livestreams some new games so they may be infected with malware. Or hackers steal account information through email or text messages. If they accidentally enter personal information into fake websites, hackers can use this information to try and access their YouTube accounts. In addition, malware may be installed on the manager's device without them knowing" - the expert shared.

In addition, experts warn that other famous Youtube channels in Vietnam should be careful and increase multi-layer security because they may be the next targets of hackers.

Previously, Youtube channels such as FapTV, Tran Thanh, Ho Quang Hieu... were also hacked and videos were broadcast with the content of conversations between some foreign experts on finance and cryptocurrency.

However, the above cases are usually handled in a short time. According to experts, with the current popularity of Do Mixi, there will be support teams to take back this channel.
