Late on the afternoon of June 5, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam National Assembly Women's Parliamentarians' Group (May 15, 2008 - May 15, 2023), General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong met with female National Assembly deputies.

This is the third time the General Secretary has directly met with female National Assembly deputies since the Group of Vietnamese Female National Assembly Deputies was established.

Female National Assembly delegates always demonstrate their mettle, intelligence and talent.

The General Secretary recalled President Ho Chi Minh's affirmation: "The beautiful landscape of Vietnam is woven and embroidered by our women, young and old, to make it more beautiful and brilliant." And with the great contribution of Vietnamese women, Uncle Ho gave women the eight golden words "Heroic - Indomitable - Loyal - Responsible".

The General Secretary noted that since the early years, female National Assembly deputies have always demonstrated their mettle, intelligence, talent, and enthusiasm, worthy of being outstanding women, representatives of the People.

The number and quality of female National Assembly deputies are increasingly improved. From only 10 female deputies in the 1st National Assembly, the number of female deputies in the 15th National Assembly now has 151, accounting for 30.26%.

Not only the quantity but also the quality, qualifications, education, expertise and working experience of female delegates are constantly improving.

The rate of speaking and participation at meetings is always high; many opinions are accepted and convincing.

“Among the 151 female National Assembly delegates sitting here today, many of them hold high positions in the Party and State leadership apparatus, are good managers, businesswomen, and outstanding people in various sectors and areas of social life,” the General Secretary emphasized.

The General Secretary cited that we have had a female Chairwoman of the National Assembly, a permanent Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, a Vice President; the current female Standing Member of the Secretariat was formerly the Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee on Social Affairs, Chairwoman of the Group of Women Deputies of the National Assembly of Vietnam, terms XII and XIII...

“With the mission and responsibility entrusted by voters, our female National Assembly deputies have been making important and positive contributions to the cause of industrialization, modernization, construction and protection of the country,” said the General Secretary.

The General Secretary expressed his excitement and joy at the constant efforts of female National Assembly deputies.

“I welcome and appreciate the profound, enthusiastic and responsible opinions of comrades and female National Assembly deputies. The Party and State will continue to pay more attention to the work of female cadres, including female National Assembly deputies, and gender equality policies,” the General Secretary affirmed.

Female National Assembly deputies must truly be 'steel roses'

The General Secretary hopes and believes that female National Assembly deputies will continue to promote their existing results and experiences, be proactive and creative, and contribute more to the activities of the Country in general and the National Assembly in particular.

From there, contribute to building our country to develop more and more, our Fatherland to become more and more prosperous, our people's lives to become more and more prosperous and better.

Besides, the General Secretary noted that female National Assembly deputies need to continue promoting the heroic and glorious tradition of Vietnamese women, wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly for the interests of the nation, people, and for the happy life of the people.

Female delegates should further improve their role as representatives of the people; promote a high sense of responsibility in building and perfecting the legal system, exercising supreme supervision and deciding on important national issues in the activities of the National Assembly.

“Each female National Assembly delegate needs to continuously study, practice, and improve her moral qualities, qualifications, and professional and technical skills; promote women's strengths, and create high persuasiveness in her participation and in the activities of the National Assembly,” the General Secretary advised.

General Secretary: Female delegates should do better in their role as representatives of the people.

At the same time, female National Assembly deputies also need to promote their mettle and intelligence, truly be "steel roses", shining examples of solidarity, striving, progress, development and spreading, inspiring women across the country, especially the young generation...

“Our Party and State have been creating all conditions for female National Assembly deputies to promote their role as representatives of the people; ensuring resources for the law on gender equality to be increasingly better enforced,” the General Secretary emphasized.

The General Secretary expressed his belief that the group of female National Assembly deputies will fulfill their responsibilities as representatives of the people, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the operations of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a rule-of-law state of the people, by the people and for the people...
