General Secretary To Lam attends the Congress of the Military Party Committee

This morning, at the headquarters of the Ministry of National Defense, the 12th Congress of the Military Party Committee, term 2025-2030, officially took place. General Secretary To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission, attended the congress.

The Congress has the theme: "Promoting the tradition of the heroic Army, building a clean, strong, exemplary, and representative Party organization, a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Army; enhancing national defense strength, firmly protecting the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam, contributing to building a peaceful , prosperous, prosperous, civilized, and happy country."

The task of the congress is to summarize the implementation of the Resolution of the 11th Party Congress of the Army, term 2020-2025 and determine the direction, goals, tasks and leadership solutions for the term 2025-2030.

The Congress will discuss and contribute opinions to the draft documents of the Central Committee to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress; and elect the delegation of the Military Party Committee to attend the 14th National Party Congress.

In his opening remarks, General Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense, said that over the past five years, the country has had many opportunities and advantages, but also many difficulties and challenges.

In that context, the Party Committee of the Army has seriously grasped and concretized the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies and laws into its action program.

The Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and Party committees and commanders at all levels have made efforts to overcome difficulties, have many policies and solutions to lead and direct the drastic implementation of all aspects of work, successfully completing the goals and tasks set out in the Resolution of the 11th Military Party Congress. Of these, many tasks were completed excellently, some tasks were completed early, leaving outstanding marks.

The Minister stated that the Central Military Commission and Party committees and organizations in the entire army always strictly follow the Party's organizational and operational principles, especially the principle of democratic centralism; leadership capacity and fighting strength are increasingly improved; contributing to maintaining the Party's absolute and direct leadership in all aspects over the Army.

The Party Committee of the Army has led the entire army to continuously improve overall quality, level and combat readiness; basically completed the adjustment of force organization in the direction of "lean, compact, strong"; well performed the functions of combat army, working army, and production labor army.

General Phan Van Giang emphasized: "The army is truly the core force in building an all-people national defense, an all-people national defense posture associated with a people's security posture, especially in strategic and important areas; firmly protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland; contributing to maintaining political stability and a peaceful environment for national construction and development."

Regarding the direction and tasks for the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of the Army will promote the heroic tradition and comprehensive strength, build a clean, strong, exemplary, and representative Party Committee, a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern army; build a strong reserve force, and a strong and widespread militia and self-defense force.

The draft political report sets out the following goals: building a politically strong Army as a basis for improving the overall quality and combat strength of the entire Army; the Army continues to lead the implementation of combat readiness tasks, organize a lean, compact, and strong force; improve the quality of training, education, and training; make breakthroughs in building discipline and management.

In addition, there is a breakthrough in the development of the defense industry, research, design, and production of new and modern weapons and technical equipment; increased investment in research, design, manufacture, production, improvement, and modernization of strategic and modern weapons and technical equipment; priority in order for strategic, campaign, and tactical weapons to meet the requirements of enhancing the army's combat strength; improving the quality of military science and cryptography work; perfecting specific institutions and policies, especially developing science and technology in the military and defense fields...

The army will also promote international integration and defense diplomacy; enhance bilateral and multilateral defense cooperation, and participate in regional and international forums.

At the same time, the Army strengthens legal work, inspection, judicial reform and State management in the military and defense fields; builds a clean and strong Party organization with comprehensive leadership capacity and high combat strength.

The total number of delegates attending the congress is 448.
