With the desire to help members have a roof over their heads before the approaching storm season, the Women's Union of Tam Hai commune has implemented a housing support project for single mother Le Thi Lam, a poor household in Long Thanh Dong village.

Since the beginning of August, the women's union members of the commune have worked together, regardless of rain or shine, to clean, dismantle, rearrange furniture and wipe down every table and cabinet.

The drops of sweat that fell not only helped rebuild a decent roof, but also became seeds of love and nurtured faith for a single mother who had suffered many disadvantages.

After the construction period, Mrs. Lam's new house was handed over with emotion.

The project received 70 million VND in support from the Association of Nui Thanh District (old) in Ho Chi Minh City. In addition, the Women's Union of Tam Hai Commune gave an additional 3 million VND to help the family maintain a clean and tidy living space. In particular, the single mother support program continued to support Ms. Lam with 2.4 million VND (200,000 VND/month for 12 months).

Ms. Bui Thi Chung Thuy, President of the Women's Union of Tam Hai Commune, said: "Currently, there are more than 10 single mothers in the area. The Union will continue to connect with philanthropists and mobilize members to join hands to share. These practical actions not only help poor families stabilize their housing, but also light up the belief in a brighter life."

In which, Ms. Chau Thi Nghia's household, Phu Tu village, is a Co ethnic group, a near-poor household, a single mother raising a young child; Ms. Vo Thi Anh Hong's household, Phu Tho village, is a near-poor household, a single mother.

Ms. Tran Thi Kieu Van, President of the Women's Union of Tam My Commune, said: "This is a meaningful gift to welcome the 1st Congress of the Women's Union of the Commune, term 2025 - 2030, and at the same time affirms the role and responsibility of the organization in accompanying and caring for the lives of members. Each brick placed not only builds a new roof, but also crystallizes the strength of the community, spreading the spirit of sharing".

In Tam Anh commune, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee coordinated with socio- political organizations, youth union members and association members to organize a campaign to remove temporary houses for Mr. Tran Minh Ba's family, a poor and disadvantaged household in Duc Bo 2 village, with a total cost of 100 million VND.

Mr. Huynh Luong Trung, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Tam Anh Commune, shared: “This is a project with profound humanistic meaning, not only helping Mr. Ba’s family have a stable place to live, but also arousing the spirit of solidarity in the community, encouraging everyone to contribute to the lives of those in need. The newly built houses are not only a place to shelter from the rain and sun, but also a symbol of solidarity and affection between people.”

According to Mr. Huynh Minh Phat, Secretary of the Tam Anh Commune Youth Union, these meaningful projects have, are, and will continue to contribute to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, new rural construction, and civilized urban areas.

The houses of solidarity built today are the "loving homes" of tomorrow, where humanity converges, a support for the less fortunate to have more strength and faith to rise up, contributing to building a community of love, solidarity and sustainable development.
