New joy at Lung Sien School

Lung Sien Kindergarten was supported to build spaciously.

Lung Sien is one of the particularly difficult villages in Vinh Thong commune. For many years, the school only had one small classroom with an area of about 20 square meters. The floor of the classroom is low, often flooded during heavy rains, and on damp days, snakes and centipedes crawl in, posing a danger to children.

There is no kitchen, so teachers have to use the porch and cover it with tarps to cook. The makeshift toilets next to the classrooms are unsafe and unhygienic.

In early 2025, through the connection of the old Bac Kan Newspaper, the Beautiful Soul Fund (Hanoi) surveyed and decided to sponsor the entire cost of building a new school for Lung Sien.

The school was solidly built, including: a 37m2 classroom, a 7m2 enclosed restroom, a 9m2 office room combined with a warehouse, an 11m2 kitchen and a 75m2 playground. The total investment is 287 million VND contributed and mobilized by members of the Beautiful Soul Fund.

To ensure the project is on schedule for the new school year, the school, local authorities and villagers have joined forces and united. Many households have voluntarily donated land to clear the site, and the commune authorities have quickly supported land procedures.

During the construction process, despite difficulties due to the dry season, the Lung Sien area lacked water, the construction unit overcame this by transporting water barrels from far away to mix concrete and build. After more than 4 months of construction, the project was completed and handed over before the new school year.

On the opening day, the Beautiful Soul Fund and sponsors presented teachers and students with many practical gifts such as televisions, portable speakers, school supplies, toys, candies, kitchen utensils, water purifiers, refrigerators, etc., contributing to creating more favorable conditions for teaching, caring for and educating children at the school.

Sharing her feelings on the first day of taking her 15-month-old son to the new class, Ms. Trieu Thi Khanh, from Lung Sien village, excitedly said: “Before, the old classroom was cramped and unsafe, so my family was very worried. Now that we have a spacious classroom with full school supplies, we feel secure sending our child there.”

In the 2025-2026 school year, Vu Muon Kindergarten has a total of 144 children. The school currently has 2 campuses, Lung Sien and Cao Son, of which Lung Sien is the most difficult campus. This school year, Lung Sien Kindergarten has 10 children attending class with different ages.

Socializing the construction of new classrooms not only overcomes the shortage but also creates favorable conditions for facilities, contributing to improving the quality of child care and education.
