In today's final, Lai Li Huynh faced Doan Thang, a 20-year-old Chinese chess prodigy. Previously in the qualifying round, Lai Li Huynh was better than Meng Fan Rui in the extra coefficient, which prevented China from having an internal final match.

The final match took place in a format of 60 minutes plus 30 seconds for each move. If there was a draw, the game would continue with rapid chess with 10 minutes and 5 seconds for each move. If there was a draw, the game would continue with blitz chess with 5 minutes plus 3 seconds for each move. However, without the need for rapid chess, Lai Ly Huynh excellently defeated Doan Thang in a standard game to win the championship even though he was at a disadvantage of holding the black pieces (going later).
The final game was very exciting, Lai Ly Huynh played better and better, gradually gaining the upper hand. In the endgame, the number 1 Vietnamese player had the upper hand when he locked down his opponent's Rook and Knight. Doan Thang had to hold his head many times to find a way to solve the problem but failed, then he had to give up the game and accept defeat.
