For the second time coming to Italy - one of the four leading fashion capitals in the world - designer Phan Dang Hoang (born 2000) brings the LACQUER collection with 42 designs inspired by traditional lacquer paintings by artist Nguyen Gia Tri.
Gen Z designers cleverly chose vibrant colors - the color blocks often seen in paintings by famous artist Nguyen Gia Tri - and used traditional materials such as leather, velvet, linen, and silk from craft villages in Vietnam.
Each detail, each layer of fabric is like layers of paint covering each other, creating a fashion work like a lacquer painting.

Phan Dang Hoang skillfully uses Lanh My A silk, combined with hand-woven pieces. Hand-embroidered details, meticulous embellishments... all require time and high meticulousness.
The colors red, neon green, gray, beige, pink… are used diversely. These are all colors that breathe youthfulness, creating a valuable connection between tradition and modernity, while also being suitable for the world 's fashion flow.
The designer born in 2000 expressed: “The 42 designs have a fresh spirit, a contemporary breath with shapes that I have tried for the first time. That is what I really like.
Each design is not just a garment to wear, but also a work of art. When craftsmanship, indigenous materials and contemporary creativity are placed side by side, they become “coats of paint” that tell their own story.

Phan Dang Hoang said that this time back there were more hardships and difficulties as he was “alone” in a foreign land with 200kg of luggage. The designs were meticulously made. Every day, Phan Dang Hoang worked in the workshop for 16-17 hours continuously for many months.
Right before the show, he encountered some problems but still rushed to complete the collection before it was shown. "After all, perhaps my love for fashion and national pride gave me so much strength," said the Gen Z designer.

Sharing after the show, the designer emotionally said: "I am proud to bring the voice, identity, culture and national beauty of Vietnam to international friends."
In 2024, Phan Dang Hoang became a prominent name in the Vietnamese fashion industry when he first debuted at Milano Fashion Week. That success brought Phan Dang Hoang many awards such as Young Face - Cultural Field at the VTV Impression Awards - VTV Awards 2025, Breakthrough Designer of the Year award at the Luxuo Asia Awards...
