Female student from Bac Ninh graduated as valedictorian with perfect score from Foreign Trade University

During her 4 years at Foreign Trade University, in 47 subjects with 143 credits, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh (student of Foreign Economics , advanced program taught in English, course 60) got A's in all. Her cumulative average score was 4.0/4.0. She also got 8.9 points in her graduation thesis.

With this result, the female student from Bac Ninh became the valedictorian of the entire Foreign Trade University in the 2025 graduation season (2021-2025 class).

Sharing with VietNamNet , Hanh said she was very happy because her efforts during her university studies had been rewarded. The female student said she was also lucky to have received help from her family, friends and teachers during her studies to achieve the results she has today.

“I am very grateful to the teachers for creating conditions, helping and accompanying my friends. At Foreign Trade University, there are many subjects that require teamwork. Without like-minded, responsible friends, the results would certainly not be as good as today,” the female student said.

As someone who does not like to be confined within a framework, 4 years ago, Hanh chose to apply to Foreign Trade University because she wanted to study in a dynamic environment with many opportunities to experience.

To achieve today's results, Hanh believes that she has no secret or learning method that is too different from her friends.

“That way, when I actually study in class, I won’t feel passive. This way, I also have more time to ask the teacher about the parts I don’t understand. In class, I actively speak up and give my opinions to interact with the lecturer, thereby understanding the lesson better and gaining cumulative bonus points,” Hanh shared about the factors that helped her achieve a high average score in all subjects.

At Foreign Trade University, many subjects require group work. Hanh believes that having groups of friends with the same learning orientation is very important. The female student sticks to a group of friends who all have a high sense of responsibility and often take the leader position. "To get the best score for the group, I often divide the work among the members according to each person's strengths and weaknesses," the female student said.

Being an “English major” is also an advantage and helps Hanh a lot in the process of studying at Foreign Trade University in the English program. “With a foundation in English, it is easier for me to receive information and acquire knowledge. The ability to search for information is also more diverse. However, English is not everything, the important thing is to practice synthetic thinking, analyzing from many streams of knowledge, so that we can turn them into our own understanding,” Hanh shared.

As a result, Minh Hanh won the school's scholarship for students with excellent academic performance in 5 semesters. She achieved IELTS 8.0.

The female student has also participated in scientific research since her third year, focusing on the field of e-commerce. Minh Hanh is the author of two scientific articles (one published in the Industry and Trade Journal, one published in the school magazine). She won third prize in the school-level Student Scientific Research Competition for the 2023-2024 school year.

After her university journey, Hanh believes that the things she learned the most were better management and leadership skills; improved selective reading and logical thinking; communication skills, and persuasion skills...

Not only is she a good student, she is also the deputy class leader of the English 1 administrative class of the Advanced Foreign Economics Program.
