Hue female student achieves highest history score in the country

(Dan Tri) - For the first time, Hue city has 2 students winning first prize in history at the National High School Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year.

On February 10, the People's Committee of Hue City held a ceremony to honor and reward students who won prizes at the National High School Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year.

According to Mr. Nguyen Phu Tho , Principal of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, this school year, Hue city has established 11 national teams of excellent students with 108 students participating in competitions in math, physics, chemistry, information technology, literature, history, geography, English, French and Japanese.

Besides 108 official students, there were also 16 students from Hue University of Science High School participating.

This year, Hue teams were not only guided by the team of teachers in the training council but also received support from experts from many major universities in the country. Some former students of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted who had won international prizes also returned to support.

Mr. Tho said that Hue students had won a total of 85 awards, including 2 first prizes, 15 second prizes, 43 third prizes and 25 consolation prizes. Notably, the Hue city history team for the first time had 2 female students, Le Hoang Anh Thu and Hoang Hoai Phuong, winning first prizes, in which Hoang Hoai Phuong scored 17.75 points, the highest in the country.

The biology and physics teams of Hue city also have 4 students selected to compete in the second round of selection for international and regional teams organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, scheduled to take place next March.

The principal of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted said that this is the school year Hue city has had the highest number of awards ever, 11 more than the previous school year, continuing to be in the leading group in the country in terms of national excellent student achievements.

At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Phuong, Chairman of Hue City People's Committee and city leaders awarded and recognized the efforts of teachers and students. The awards for students winning national excellent student awards are 40 million VND for first prize, 20 million VND for second prize, 14 million VND for third prize and 10 million VND for encouragement prize.
