Orphaned female student receives scholarship and living expenses support for the entire course

TPO - Although it was very difficult, I always tried to study hard throughout my high school years and had a big dream. That was to go to university, so that in the future I could have a stable job to take care of my life, because my father had passed away and I had no support.

On August 27, Master Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung - Director of the Communication Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology said that the school's Board of Directors has decided to award a 100% scholarship for the entire undergraduate program and a living allowance of VND 2,000,000/month to female student Ho Huynh Nhi. New student Huynh Nhi has just completed the admission procedures for the Restaurant Management and Food Service major of this school.

Huynh Nhi currently lives in the house of a schoolmate's maternal grandparents in Can Thanh town, Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City. Her mother left when Nhi was in 9th grade. Nhi stayed with her father, but because of financial difficulties, her father went to the city to find work and sent Nhi to live with her schoolmate's maternal grandparents. Not long after, her father died of a serious illness, and Nhi became an orphan.

To help her grandparents, after school hours, Nhi and her friends help her grandmother make grilled corn to sell to pay for daily food expenses.

Although life was extremely difficult, Nhi always tried to study and nurtured her dream of going to university. “Although it was very difficult, I always tried to study throughout my high school years and nurtured a big dream. That was to go to university, so that in the future I could have a stable job to take care of my life, because my father had passed away and I had no support,” Nhi confided.

The scholarship helps Huynh Nhi more confidently conquer her dream.

When receiving a 100% full scholarship for the entire course and monthly living expenses from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Huynh Nhi was moved: “For other students, going through admission procedures may be a very normal thing, but for me, it is very special, a dream. Being sponsored by the school with a scholarship and living expenses is a great joy for me. The people who take care of and help me are also very happy.”

When going through the admission procedures, Nhi was both happy and nervous because her dream had come true. Sharing about her goals in the learning journey ahead, Nhi confided: "In the coming time, I will try to study well, improve myself to have a stable job in a restaurant or hotel in the culinary field. While studying, I will also work part-time to cover my student life."
