According to Mr. Long, writing calligraphy in Vietnamese script touches the emotions of many people. Each word written will show the heart, personality, soul and creativity of each individual.

“Giving calligraphy at the beginning of the year shows the nation’s tradition of respecting teachers and learning, contributing to preserving and promoting the value of Vietnamese calligraphy. Parallel sentences and wishes on red paper are spiritual gifts to welcome the new year, representing the wishes of the beginning of the year,” Mr. Long added.

Every Tet holiday, "calligrapher" Hoang Trong Tuyen in Thanh Hoa is busy drawing calligraphy. This year, in particular, Mr. Tuyen draws on lotus leaves, making many people excited.
