Peace Trees Vietnam 30 years accompanying Quang Tri to overcome the consequences of war

QTO- On September 25, Peace Trees Vietnam celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Peace Trees Vietnam is a US non-governmental organization licensed to operate in Vietnam in the field of mine clearance support, education , awareness raising, and community development.

PeaceTrees Vietnam has been accompanying Quang Tri province for 30 years in overcoming the consequences of war, actively contributing to promoting socio -economic development and poverty reduction in the locality, while also being a bridge of friendship between international friends and the people of Quang Tri. Over the past years, 2,700 hectares of land have been safely cleared, nearly 143,000 explosives have been removed.

The organization has also built the Mine Risk Education Center, the first model in Quang Tri. Thousands of mine victims and their children have been supported by Peace Trees Vietnam through emergency medical assistance programs, economic development support, loans, clean water wells, and scholarships. With efforts to develop the community, PeaceTrees Vietnam has helped many libraries, halls, and kindergartens to be built in remote areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.

Another profound mark is the role of PeaceTrees Vietnam in building a bridge of friendship between the people of Vietnam and the United States. Through the exchange activities of people-to-people diplomatic delegations and students, this meaningful cooperation and sharing of the organization has contributed to bringing the people of the two sides closer together, turning the painful past into an opportunity for understanding, sympathy and strong attachment.

Entering the 30th year of accompanying Quang Tri province, PeaceTrees Vietnam is committed to continuing to clear and handle remaining unexploded ordnance, providing knowledge on mine accident prevention education for the people.
