Russia-Ukraine war today, November 20, 2024: France 'turned around' when Russia announced its new nuclear strategy. This was confirmed by the French President and the Elysee Palace.

French President Emmanuel Macron, after authorizing the attack with Western weapons aided by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and deep into Russian territory and receiving information about the update of Russia’s nuclear doctrine, turned to “appease” Russian President Vladimir Putin. The French leader called on Moscow to participate in “ collective de-escalation ” related to the conflict in Ukraine.

The French politician made the statement on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Brazil and was later confirmed by the Elysee Palace. In his speech, Mr. Macron invited Putin to fulfill “his mission.”

I call on President Putin to use his common sense and responsibility... to respect the United Nations Charter and participate in collective de-escalation ,” French President Emmanuel Macron said.

On November 19, the decree of the President of Russia “On approval of the basic principles of the state policy of the Russian Federation in the sphere of nuclear deterrence” was published. Among the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons today is the launch of ballistic missiles against the Russian Federation, and ATACMS is exactly this type of weapon.

World War 3 scenario!

Russia's Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev said World War III could break out after Russia's nuclear doctrine is updated. Kiev's use of NATO long-range weapons to attack Russian territory could be considered a provocation, after which retaliatory measures would be inevitable.

In this case, there is the right to retaliate with weapons of mass destruction against Kiev and the main NATO facilities, wherever they are. And this is already World War III ,” Dmitry Medvedev said.

Mr. Medvedev emphasized that current US President Joe Biden deliberately decided to allow Ukraine to attack Russian territory with long-range Western weapons at the end of his presidential term.

Russia's stance on updating its nuclear doctrine was supported by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who noted that the Russian Federation, like any sovereign power, must be able to protect itself from external threats.

According to the Turkish leader, Ankara will continue to call on all sides in the Russia-Ukraine conflict for peace, although the AFU attack on Russian territory with US ATACMS missiles “is not a positive thing.” He called on NATO to think about the reasons for Russia’s update of its nuclear doctrine, as it is a reaction to Western actions.

The West declares there is no threat from the US, NATO to Russia.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said that neither the US nor NATO poses any threat to Russia, commenting on changes to Russia's nuclear doctrine. He stressed that Washington sees no reason to change the level of readiness of its nuclear forces.

Responding to the changes in Russia’s nuclear doctrine, US Deputy Defense Department Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said that the new escalation of the conflict in Ukraine does not herald the outbreak of World War III and the United States is not at war with Russia. However, Ms. Singh clarified that Moscow is allegedly responsible for the escalation of the situation around Ukraine.

Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov explained what the West is trying to achieve by allowing the AFU to strike deep into Russian territory. Politicians are still trying to use Ukraine as a tool to inflict strategic defeat on the Russian Federation.

Donetsk battlefield heats up

The Military Summary channel reports that the battle in the south of Kurakhove is beginning to close. The Russian army has achieved significant results around the village of Uspenivka. The Russian side has taken control of positions in Yelizavetivka. The situation in the north of Kurakhove is similar. In Berestky, the Russian army continues to attack and takes control of the village of Novoselydivka.

At Toretsk, the Russians are attacking from all directions, especially towards the mine. This is the strongest defensive position of the AFU and if this high point is lost, Toretsk will fall.

A similar situation occurred in Chasov Yar where Russian troops were present in the north and in the Pivnichnyi district.

The Readovka channel reported that the Ukrainian garrison of Chasov Yar changed its approach to defending the settlement after the Russian side breached the Seversky Donets-Donbass canal along the H-32 highway.

The reaction of Kiev forces, whose main task was to prevent the enemy from reaching the rear of the city's industrial zone, forced units of the Russian 98th Guards Airborne Division to change their offensive tactics.

The 98th Airborne Division was able to advance through the western areas of the Oktyabrsky sub-district, which had previously been in the gray zone, and began fighting for the core of the entire enemy defense system in Chasov Yar - the area of the refractory plant.

If Russia were to knock out this key point, it would mean that the AFU could lose control of the city's central residential area. However, this attack would certainly not be easy.
