This morning, April 12, the Provincial Labor Federation (LDLĐ) coordinated with the Labor and Trade Union Magazine and the Provincial Journalists Association to organize the launching ceremony of the Writing Contest on "Workers and Trade Unions of Quang Tri Province" in 2024.

Writing contest on initiatives, good practices, effective operating models of trade unions at all levels; exemplary trade union officials, union members, and workers; good people, good deeds in the workers' and civil servants' movement and trade union activities in the province.

Entries must be written in the form of memoirs, travelogues, notes, or reports that accurately reflect the theme and content of the contest.

Contestants are union officials, union members and workers; reporters, members and collaborators of central and local press agencies in and outside the province.

Through the contest, we reflect the rich and colorful reality of life, work, and the beauty of workers. At the same time, we encourage and honor outstanding collectives and individuals, and promote the bright examples, typical examples, and effective practices of grassroots unions, thereby creating a strong spread of good values and promoting the development of emulation movements.

In particular, the contest aims to accurately reflect the great contributions of union members, employees and trade union organizations in the cause of building and developing Quang Tri homeland. From there, the Party committees, authorities and society at all levels share and better understand the difficulties and challenges of the working class and trade union organizations; and identify the responsibility in caring for union members and employees in the new situation.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest Nguyen The Lap hoped that the contest would receive the attention of professional and non-professional writers inside and outside the province to write impressive and profound works about workers and trade unions. Along with that, it would attract the attention and enthusiastic support of a large number of union members, officials, and employees of all levels of trade unions in the province to participate in creating a widespread influence of the contest.

At the same time, it is recommended that the Provincial Federation of Labor, Federations of Labor of districts, towns, cities, Industry Trade Unions, Provincial Civil Servants' Trade Unions, together with press agencies, media, and electronic information pages of agencies and units, promote propaganda and widely disseminate the contest in appropriate forms so that a large number of cadres, union members, and employees can participate.

In particular, trade unions at all levels are required to pay attention to supporting and introducing good models, effective practices and good examples of good people and good deeds in the workers' and trade union movements and trade union activities at the grassroots level, and to coordinate and create conditions for journalists and reporters to have the opportunity to access and exploit information to write quality articles.

The writing contest on the topic "Workers and Trade Unions of Quang Tri Province" is one of the practical activities responding to Workers' Month 2024; celebrating the 138th anniversary of International Labor Day May 1 (1886 - 2024); welcoming the 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union July 28 (1929 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the re-establishment of Quang Tri Province July 1 (1989 - 2024).

The contest will take place over 3 months, with entries being accepted from the contest launch date until June 20, 2024; submission address: Labor & Trade Union Magazine (Email: tapchidientu.laodongcongdoan@gmail.com).

The competition will conclude and award prizes in July 2024.
