On the afternoon of November 3, some people walking on the Lang Co embankment, My Khe village, Tam Thanh commune (Phu Quy island district) discovered a body stuck in a rock cavity. The incident was then reported to local authorities.

Many people suspect that this is the body of Can Hoang M. (19 years old, living in Lam Dong province), who was swept away by waves while SUP paddling with 5 others last week. Fortunately, all 5 people who went with him survived.

Mr. M's relatives also came to the scene to identify the body. However, because the body was in the process of decomposition, the authorities will have to take professional measures to determine the exact identity.

As reported by VietNamNet , on the afternoon of October 26, the Phu Quy Port Border Guard Station received a report from the owner of Villa Windy about a group of 6 tourists going to Phu Quy Island for sightseeing and registering to stay at the facility.

At about 4:45 p.m. the same day, this group took 2 sup boats and 1 life jacket in front of the villa to go swimming and rowing about 200 meters from shore (the sea area where sup activities are not allowed).

More than an hour later, the group encountered strong winds and currents pulling them away from shore, so they called the villa owner for help. Afterwards, 3 people were rescued by boat and brought safely to shore. The remaining 3 people continued to drift at sea. The boat returned to rescue them but could not find them.

At 7:00 p.m. the same day, tourist Ngo Xuan H. (26 years old, residing in Dien Bien province) was able to swim to shore.

On October 27, female tourist Nguyen Ngoc Kim Th. (19 years old, residing in Lam Dong province) was also lucky to be found, after a night drifting at sea thanks to wearing a life jacket.
