The project not only helps people overcome the lack of clean water in daily life but also contributes to improving health, enhancing the quality of life, and meeting environmental sanitation criteria in implementing the new rural construction program.
People are excited to use clean water.
In previous years, Mr. Nguyen Cong Nhac's family in Phu Duoi village, Luong Tai commune often collected rainwater and pumped water from wells for use, but there was not enough rainwater, and the well water was yellow and cloudy, making it difficult to use in daily life. To overcome this situation, his family had to invest in building a rainwater tank system, building a sand and activated carbon filter tank to treat the well water. He said: "In addition to the initial cost, on average, each month the family spends about 150,000-200,000 VND on electricity for pumping water, buying filter materials, not to mention the cost of replacing sand and activated carbon...".

To be assured of the quality of the water source, Mr. Nhac's family also spent money to buy a RO filter, regularly replacing the filter cartridge at a cost of about 200,000 VND each time. Immediately after the clean water plant of Phu Hoa Centralized Water Supply Station was completed, the family immediately registered to use clean water. Since then, his whole family has been assured of the guaranteed water quality and the cost has been much lower than using well water before.
As one of the first households to use water from Phu Hoa Centralized Water Supply Station, Mr. Nguyen Huy Dao, in Phu Tren village, Luong Tai commune, is very confident about the quality of the water source. He shared: “In the past, my family often used well water in daily life. However, due to the water source not being guaranteed, most of the cooking equipment and water containers were stained yellow, rusted, and the drinking water had an unpleasant smell. Since switching to using water from the Station, my family has been assured because the water is clear and free of residue. Every month, the Station sends samples for testing and publicly lists them so that water users know.”
Efforts to increase the rate of people using clean water
The headworks of the Station have a designed capacity of 4,300 m3/day and night, including 2 surface water treatment modules using lamella sedimentation technology to meet the water needs of 6,700 households in 14 villages of Luong Tai commune and 15 villages of Trung Chinh commune, reaching 85-87% of the total number of households. The water source supplied to people is treated through 5 stages: Raw water taken from the river is supplied by 2 submersible pumps placed under the collection pit and led to the treatment equipment through the pipeline system; the water entering the treatment is controlled for PH and turbidity as a basis for adding chemicals to support the sedimentation-filtration process to achieve the best results; raw water mixed with all types of chemicals is distributed through branch pipes to the reaction compartment of 5 sedimentation-filtration modules and lamella sedimentation tank.
Currently, the main project of Phu Hoa Centralized Water Supply Station has a designed capacity of 4,300m3/day and night, including 2 surface water treatment modules using lamella sedimentation technology to meet the water needs of 6,700 households in 14 villages of Luong Tai commune and 15 villages of Trung Chinh commune, reaching 85-87% of the total number of households. |
At the gravity filter, the remaining solids in the water are retained by the filter material layer, the water passing through the filter material layer becomes clean water, is sterilized with chlorine and Javel and goes into the clean water tank to supply the network through the level 2 pumping station system. The water source supplied to people is guaranteed in quality. The weekly test results of the indicators: Color, turbidity, PH, hardness, Fe, Mn, Arsenic, NH4, residual chlorine, total coliform... are all within the allowable limits according to QCVN02: 2009/BYT, so people can rest assured about the quality of the water source provided by the factory.
Currently, the actual capacity of the plant is stable at 3,200-3,500 m 3 /day and night, during the summer and Lunar New Year it reaches 4,000-4,300 m 3 /day and night. To maximize the design capacity of the station, increase the rate of people using clean water, and promote the importance of using clean water, Phu Hoa Centralized Water Supply Station focuses on strictly following the production process, publicly posting quality indicators, selling prices, installation and connection costs... so that everyone can understand and feel secure in long-term use. Incidents in the water supply process such as broken or damaged pipes, pump system problems, etc. are immediately reported to the people by the station and handled quickly and promptly. Technical teams are arranged to work directly at the station, both ensuring the quality of input and output water sources and promptly handling operational incidents, providing stable service across the entire network.
The effective and sustainable operation of Phu Hoa Centralized Water Supply Station brings benefits to thousands of households, contributing to overcoming the situation of using water sources that do not ensure quality for daily life; at the same time helping to change awareness about water use in rural areas, thereby improving the quality of life and building new rural areas in localities.
