Further promote the role of literature and art

The draft Political Report to be submitted to the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term has been widely publicized, attracting the attention and comments of a large number of cadres, party members and people from all walks of life. As a literary criticism researcher, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Viet Trung is very interested in the contents stated in the draft Political Report to be submitted to the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. She emphasized: Literature and art play a particularly important role in ideological work, are a spiritual resource that contributes to improving cultural life, cultivating personality and spreading humanistic values ​​in society.

This is also a field that plays an active role in protecting and promoting national cultural identity, raising public awareness in preserving good traditions and fighting against hybrid and offensive cultural phenomena. Therefore, fully recognizing the role of literature and art, and at the same time proposing specific solutions to develop this field in the new period is an issue that needs to be given due attention in the draft Political Report.

Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Thi Viet Trung added: Through careful study of the draft Political Report submitted to the Provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term, I found that the assessment of the field of literature and arts was fully and accurately expressed, showing the province's concern for the team of artists.

In the section on goals, tasks and solutions for the coming time, I think there needs to be more specific content related to the orientation of literary and artistic development, especially in the context of the province entering a period of strong transformation, accompanying the nation's aspirations to rise. There needs to be clearer orientation on the role and responsibility of the team of artists in creating works of high ideological and artistic value, vividly reflecting the renewed reality of the province after the merger.

Currently, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Literature and Arts Association has more than 300 members, operating in 11 fields, including: Prose, Poetry, Folklore, Criticism, Photography, Fine Arts, Music, Architecture, Theater, Dance and Cinema, Radio - Television.

The cultural and artistic work of Thai Nguyen province has achieved remarkable results, affirming its role and position in building the cultural and spiritual life of the homeland and the country. Creative camps, photo and art exhibitions and creative competitions are held regularly, creating a vibrant creative movement among artists and writers, and the quality of works is increasingly improved.

However, according to the leaders of the Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the institutionalization of the Party's guidelines and viewpoints through laws, policies, mechanisms and specific resources to develop culture, literature and arts in the locality has been slow in recent times. This has partly created limitations, affecting the development of local cultural and artistic life.

Regarding the goals and solutions for cultural and artistic development proposed in the draft Political Report, Poet Nguyen Thuy Quynh, President of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Literature and Arts Association, expressed: Many policies and guidelines of the Party and State have been effectively implemented, creating favorable conditions for cultural development. We expect that the upcoming Provincial Party Congress documents will closely follow those major orientations, especially the cultural development policy recently approved by the National Assembly. This is an important basis for completing the documents in the direction of clear strategies, specific goals, and close to the reality of Thai Nguyen, thereby better promoting the role of the artists in developing local culture.

In the northern communes of Thai Nguyen province, the artists are mainly people living in remote areas. They work in communes and schools in the highlands while still maintaining their passion for writing in the fields of prose, poetry, fine arts, photography... so the conditions for creativity and artistic activities still face many difficulties.

Representing the Northern artists, artist Tran Giang Nam, Thai Nguyen Province Vietnam Fine Arts Association, proposed that there should be a mechanism to encourage more strongly the socialization of activities in the field of literature and art, especially art creation and exhibition. At the same time, it is necessary to create a favorable environment to promote works imbued with Thai Nguyen cultural identity, contributing to spreading local cultural values.

Author Nguyen Van Loi, a member of the Thai Nguyen Literature and Arts Association, currently living in Bac Kan ward, expressed his thoughts and wishes after studying the draft Political Report of the Congress: The draft Political Report has correctly and appropriately assessed the role of literature and art in ideological work.

Thai Nguyen is a locality with a talented team of artists, not inferior to major cultural centers in the country; many documentary film directors of the province have made their mark at the international level. We hope that there will be more mechanisms and policies to support creative and publishing activities, while at the same time paying attention to training the next generation of young people to maintain and promote the province's artistic resources in the coming period.

Architect Nguyen Van Cuong, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Province Architects Association, added: Entering a new stage of development, when Thai Nguyen is increasingly becoming a highlight of the region, we hope that the Congress documents will more clearly mention the specific targets and orientations for the field of architecture. At the same time, there needs to be a mechanism to promote the role of artists in general so that we have more opportunities to contribute to the overall development of the province.

In the coming time, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Literature and Arts Association will organize a Congress for the 2025-2030 term. This is an opportunity to review the results of the past term, affirm the role of literature and arts and propose specific solutions and policies to develop this field in the new period.
