Issued alert number 1 on Chu River, localities proactively deployed evacuation plans

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - At 10:00 p.m. on August 25, the Thanh Hoa Province Civil Defense Command issued Official Dispatch No. 19 issuing an alert I on the Chu River.

According to the flood warning bulletin on Chu River No. DBLU-34/22h30/THOA dated August 25, 2025 of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, at 9:00 p.m. on August 25, the water level on Chu River at Xuan Khanh Hydrological Station was +6.48 m (2.52 m below BĐI); the warning water level downstream of Chu River at Xuan Khanh Hydrological Station is likely to reach BĐI (+9.0 m) at around 2-4:00 a.m. on August 26.

The Provincial Civil Defense Command issued a first alarm on the Chu River at the Xuan Khanh Hydrological Station, requesting the Chairmen of the People's Committees of the communes and wards: Lam Son, Xuan Hoa, Tho Xuan, Tho Lap, Xuan Tin, Xuan Lap, Sao Vang, Thieu Toan, Thieu Trung, Thieu Hoa, Thieu Tien, Thieu Quang, Dong Tien to immediately deploy dike patrols and dike protection according to the alarm levels. Organize inspections, reviews and be ready to deploy plans to ensure the safety of dike works; especially key points of weak dikes and culverts across the dike in the area. Proactively deploy plans to evacuate people living in the riverbank area.

At the same time, organize a serious 24/24h on-duty team, closely monitor the developments of rain and floods to be ready to handle situations from the first hour; promptly inform and report to the Provincial Office of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control Command and the Standing Office of the Provincial Civil Defense Command.
