Cultural infrastructure has been invested synchronously from the province to the villages and hamlets. The province has also implemented many projects to build cultural institutions, restore relics and support heritage conservation.
These projects become gathering places, connecting people in cultural activities, sports , local festivals, and at the same time are spaces to nurture and pass on cultural identity to the younger generation.
In addition to the State’s investment, Thai Nguyen people also actively contributed their time and money to build spacious cultural houses and maintain traditional singing and dancing clubs. This cooperation created a sustainable foundation for culture to permeate social life, becoming a spiritual strength in the local socio -economic development.
Along with investing in infrastructure, the province also focuses on preserving intangible cultural values and promoting the role of the community as a subject.
Thai Nguyen is currently implementing Project 6 under the National Target Program for the Development of Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas, focusing on supporting the construction of cultural and sports institutions and the development of community tourism in disadvantaged areas.
Thanks to this resource, from 2022 to now, 21 new cultural houses and village sports areas have been built, of which Dinh Hoa district alone has 11 projects, creating conditions for ethnic minorities to participate in cultural activities, practice sports and preserve traditional beauty.
Along with that, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thai Nguyen province has completed the renovation and upgrading of typical tourist attractions and cultural villages; at the same time, implementing additional projects expected to be completed in 2025. These projects not only contribute to the preservation of valuable craft villages and relics, but also turn them into typical tourism products, creating attractiveness for the destination of Thai Nguyen.
The province also allocates public funding to support mass art troupes to maintain regular activities in ethnic minority hamlets. Then singing clubs of the Tay people, Soong Co singing of the San Diu people, Tac Xinh dancing of the San Chay people, Pa Dung singing of the Dao people, etc. are all "fueled" to both preserve the quintessence of folk art and serve as performances in festivals and tourist events. Thereby, the spiritual life of the people is improved, and the image of Thai Nguyen becomes more vivid and rich in identity in the eyes of tourists.
On average, each year, Thai Nguyen builds about five cultural models associated with preserving identity and developing community tourism, focusing on restoring festivals, folk songs, and folk dances that have been listed in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
From these effective models, many unique cultural values of ethnic groups have been revived, spread and widely promoted, contributing to making the image of Thai Nguyen - the "first famous tea" region - an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
It can be seen that economic development associated with the preservation and promotion of cultural values is becoming a sustainable direction for Thai Nguyen. Culture is not only a spiritual foundation but also a soft resource that promotes economic sectors such as tourism, services, agriculture and creative industries.
Realizing that, the province has set the goal of "fast, distinctive and sustainable" development in the coming period. To realize the goal, the province continues to prioritize investment resources for the cultural sector, synchronously deploying the Vietnam Cultural Development Program for the period 2023-2025 in the area, while promoting socialization, mobilizing the participation of businesses and the community in heritage conservation, organizing cultural and tourism events, and building new tourism products.
The outstanding results in recent times are the premise for Thai Nguyen to confidently continue on the path of promoting cultural resources for economic development. Culture is truly becoming an endogenous driving force, both improving the spiritual life of the people and creating a new momentum for this open midland region on the journey of integration and development.
