The Thai comedy earned 100 billion VND after about 1 month of release. This is the second work in 2025 to reach this revenue milestone after "Sister-in-law".
According to data from Box Office Vietnam, 404 Run away now revenue recognition 100 billion VND on the morning of January 23. With this achievement, the brainchild of director Pichaya Jarusboonpracha became the most popular Thai film in the history of Vietnamese cinemas, surpassing Ghost Eater 2 ( 99 billion VND ) and Grandma's fortune ( 89 billion VND ).
404 Run away now reigned supreme at Vietnamese cinemas for 5 consecutive weeks. The film surpassed its competitors in terms of both revenue and number of screenings. After about 1 month of release, the popularity of the film has significantly decreased. In recent days, the Thai comedy has had an average of about 1,700 screenings per day.
Launching from Christmas 2024, 404 Run away now received attention thanks to its humorous and entertaining content. In addition, the dubbed version with many trendy lines went viral on social networks - an important factor that helped the film increase recognition and prolong its life in theaters. In addition, the cameo cast, including Uyen An, even though only appeared briefly, still attracted attention.
With a duration of 104 minutes, 404 Run away now follows Nakrob, a con man who is heavily in debt but always dreams of a happy life with his lover. To change his life, he plans to buy cheap houses and resell them at sky-high prices. Unexpectedly, the house Nakrob bought is haunted. With no other choice, he must rely on spiritual experts to help fight the spirit of the witch.
In fact, the film still has many limitations in terms of script. Many unnecessary details, along with poor control of the rhythm, make the work drag in some scenes. However, thanks to knowing how to take advantage of the popular formulas, and being released at a favorable time, Pichaya Jarusboonpracha's film still had explosive results in Vietnamese theaters.
