Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong arrives in Switzerland to attend IPU-148

After landing at the airport, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong and the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation visited the Vietnamese delegation in Geneva. Here, the delegation offered incense at the Memorial Space of President Ho Chi Minh and respectfully reported to Uncle Ho the delegation's activities during this working trip.

The delegation included Mr. Bui Van Cuong, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the Office of the National Assembly, Head of the Secretariat of the National Assembly of Vietnam, along with representatives of the leadership of the National Assembly's agencies, including Mr. Don Tuan Phong, Deputy Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Assembly, Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Hung, Deputy Head of the National Defense and Security Committee, Ms. Nguyen Van Chi, Deputy Head of the Finance and Budget Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong, Deputy Head of the Law Committee, Mr. Vu Minh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Office of the National Assembly, the Standing Members of the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Science , Technology and Environment Committee, National Assembly deputies and a group of accompanying officials.

On March 23, members of the delegation participated in the ASEAN+3 and APG meetings; the Secretaries of Delegations meeting and the Women Parliamentarians Forum meeting. At the Women Parliamentarians Forum meeting, Ms. Nguyen Van Chi, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Finance and Budget Committee, led the Vietnamese delegation and delivered the opening speech on the topic "Women - Peace and Security".

The 148th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-148) Assembly will take place from March 24-27 in Geneva, Switzerland. According to the program, on the morning of March 24, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong, Head of the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation, will attend the Executive Council meeting. The Vietnamese National Assembly delegation will attend the Opening Ceremony of the 148th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly and the Plenary Session, which will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. local time. Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Quang Phuong, Head of the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation, is expected to deliver a speech at the IPU-148 Plenary Session. On the same day, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong will attend the Conference of the Association of Secretaries General of Parliaments (ASGP).

Within the framework of IPU-148, the Vietnamese National Assembly Delegation will attend many activities and meetings of the IPU Standing Committees. On the sidelines of the General Assembly, there are expected to be about 10 bilateral meetings between the Head of the Vietnamese National Assembly Delegation, representatives of our National Assembly Delegation with other countries, with the IPU President, IPU Secretary General, AIPA Secretary General, etc.
