Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Tien inspected Huoi Trang Tai Lake before blocking the flow.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lo Van Tien requested the investor to direct the contractor to implement solutions to complete the landscape around the lake before blocking the stream.

According to the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee, within 10 days (from October 15 to 25), the Project Management Board of Agricultural and Rural Development Projects (investor) directed the contractor to block the stream to shorten the project implementation time, serving the production needs of the people. Before blocking the stream, the investor reported to the Provincial People's Committee leaders to inspect the items to ensure the requirements on capacity and landscape of the lake, serving production as well as tourism development.

After the field inspection, Mr. Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested the investor and contractor to organize the cleaning of the lake bed, especially the need to dredge and transport the organic soil layer; at the same time, complete the landscape around the lake before blocking the flow.

The Huoi Trang Tai reservoir project serves the irrigation needs of more than 460 hectares of agricultural land; at the same time, it protects about 400 households in the two communes: Thanh Hung and Thanh Chan from the risk of flash floods; with a total investment of 250 billion VND, implemented in the period of 2020 - 2024. To date, Huoi Trang Tai reservoir has completed about 75% of the workload including auxiliary items. In the coming time, the investor will urge the contractor to focus on preparing for the work of blocking the flow and completing the dam and spillway system. It is expected that by the end of the first quarter of 2024, the remaining items of the project will be completed and put into use early to serve the production water for local people.
