At the meeting, after hearing the report on the developments of storm No. 10 and the plans to respond to the storm, Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Head of the National Defense Steering Committee - Tran Hong Ha directed: Storm No. 10 has complicated developments, storm on storm, unpredictable and very strong. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha suggested that the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment needs to have specific and accurate storm analysis and forecasts so that localities can be more proactive in response work and avoid subjectivity.

Proactively respond to storms

Ministries, departments, branches, units and localities need to continuously exchange information on the storm's developments; strictly implement the "4 on-the-spot" principle; in which, pay special attention to stockpiling food and provisions to supply people when necessary. Communication is very necessary at this time, otherwise it will not be possible to direct the storm response in an optimal and effective manner.

From this afternoon (September 27), all ships must be banned from operating at sea to avoid damage caused by storms. The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment needs to isolate areas with strong sea winds and evacuate people before 3 p.m. today. It is necessary to clearly identify vulnerable points directly affected by the storm to have plans to reinforce and minimize damage caused by the storm.

The rain will be very heavy due to the impact of the storm, so all reservoirs must ensure, attaching the responsibility of the reservoir and dam owners and the responsibility of the head of the local steering committee. Storm response must be implemented as forecasted. All ministries, departments, branches, units and localities must make every effort to respond to storm No. 10, minimizing the damage caused by the storm.
