Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc receives new assignment

(Dan Tri) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed a decision to establish a Steering Committee for Business Innovation and Development, headed by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has just signed Decision No. 2134 approving the list of members of the Steering Committee for Enterprise Innovation and Development. This Decision takes effect from September 25.

According to the decision, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc is the Head of the Steering Committee. Minister and Head of the Government Office Tran Van Son is the Standing Deputy Head. Mr. Nguyen Canh Viet and Mr. Bui Hong Minh are the Deputy Heads of the specialized committee.

The Steering Committee for Enterprise Innovation and Development is an inter-sectoral coordination organization with the function of researching, consulting, recommending, and assisting the Prime Minister in directing the arrangement, innovation, and improvement of the operational efficiency of state-owned enterprises. The Committee is also responsible for developing enterprises in other economic sectors; and converting public service units into enterprises.

The Committee also assists the Prime Minister in directing and coordinating relevant ministries, agencies and organizations to resolve problems and shortcomings in policies and mechanisms, and in the organization of implementation in the arrangement, innovation and improvement of the operational efficiency of state-owned enterprises; the development of enterprises in other economic sectors; and the transformation of public service units into enterprises.

In addition, the Steering Committee also needs to study and propose solutions to difficulties and obstacles in the production and business activities of enterprises, contributing to improving the efficiency of enterprises' operations and performing other tasks assigned by the Prime Minister.

Members of the Steering Committee for Enterprise Innovation and Development include: Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Deputy Chief of the Party Central Office; Ms. Mai Thi Thu Van, Deputy Head of the Government Office; Mr. Pham The Tung, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Cao Anh Tuan, Deputy Minister of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tu, Deputy Minister of Justice; Mr. Vu Chien Thang, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Hiep, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Canh, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Mr. Nguyen Hong Son, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Mr. Phan Van Anh, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Mr. Truong Viet Dung, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Mr. Ha Minh Manh (full-time member); Ms. Le Thanh Van, Director of the Department of Enterprise Innovation of the Government Office (Member - Secretary of the Steering Committee).
