The restaurant has been selling vegetarian food for only 1,000 VND/portion for 7 years.

The KC 1,000 VND Charity Vegetarian Restaurant (No. 100, Tran Viet Chau Street, Cai Khe Ward; under the Can Tho City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association) has just celebrated its 7th anniversary (August 18, 2018 - August 18, 2025). The restaurant has been operating for the past 7 years with a symbolic price of 1,000 VND/portion, to support the needy.

Over the past 7 years, many people have contributed to preparing vegetables, cooking, and serving at the restaurant without receiving any remuneration. Currently, this team includes Ms. Tho, Ms. Lien, Ms. Kim Tu, Mr. Phong... Each meal includes rice, vegetarian food, and fruit on a tray. In the photo: Mr. Phong serves rice to customers.

The restaurant is open from Monday to Friday, from 10:30 every day until sold out. The restaurant serves over 50 portions every day.

Customers only pay 1,000 VND/portion into the donation box, those who are kind can contribute more.

The restaurant was established and maintained by the Can Tho City Charity and Children's Rights Protection Association in collaboration with the KC Real Estate Association. Funding was mobilized from philanthropists. From August 18, 2025, the restaurant also sold frozen vegetarian food, and the profits were contributed to the restaurant's operating fund. On the occasion of the 7th anniversary of its establishment, the benefactors contributed and gave 30 gifts to those who often come to eat with difficult circumstances, each gift including rice, noodles, necessities (worth over 400,000 VND/gift); gave 20 gifts to children of the Street Children's Club including candy, milk, handbags, water bottles, notebooks...
