From June 11 to 14, 2025, due to the influence of storm No. 1, the province experienced very heavy to extremely heavy rain over a wide area with rainfall in 72 hours ranging from 450 mm - 600 mm, higher in some places (concentrated in the south of the province) such as: In Hai Lam (Hai Lang) 774 mm; La To (Dakrong) 755.6 mm; Ta Long (Dakrong) 666.4 mm,... and concentrated in a short period of time; this is an unusual natural disaster that occurs in the middle of summer.
The water level of rivers rose very quickly in a short period of time, especially the downstream rivers in the southern part of the province (O Lau, Thach Han) at alert level 3, other rivers at alert level 1 and alert level 2, causing flooding of most of the summer-autumn rice crop and crops, aquatic products...; causing damage to irrigation works, dykes, traffic, riverbank landslides, flooding in low-lying areas, especially in the south of the province.
Storms and floods have caused great damage to lives, property, and infrastructure of the State and people, especially in the agricultural production sector in the summer-autumn crop.

To promptly overcome the consequences of floods after storm No. 1, the People's Committee of Quang Tri province requested localities to mobilize maximum forces, means and materials to drain water from deeply flooded areas, temporarily repair canals and dykes, and create favorable conditions for the quick recovery of agricultural production.
Along with that, localities were assigned to review and inventory damages, clearly identify projects in need of urgent investment, and propose timely and appropriate support plans to ensure social security for people in disaster-affected areas.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment, as the standing agency for natural disaster prevention and control, is assigned to preside over and urge the implementation of response plans, provide technical guidance on seeds and fertilizers, effectively operate irrigation systems, and build urgent works to serve production and life.
The Department of Finance coordinates the timely allocation of funds to support localities in overcoming the damage. The Department of Construction is responsible for reviewing and assessing the level of damage to traffic works, proposing repair solutions, ensuring safety and traffic.
Other departments and branches, based on their assigned functions and tasks, proactively coordinate to ensure effective and proper implementation of disaster recovery work.

The timely announcement of a natural disaster emergency situation shows the high determination of the Quang Tri provincial government in its efforts to mobilize all resources to quickly overcome the consequences, ensure the safety of people's lives and property, and soon stabilize production and life.
Faced with the severe damage caused by storm No. 1, the Minister of Agriculture and Environment has issued a Decision on exporting plant seeds from the national reserve to support Quang Tri province.
According to the Decision, Thua Thien Hue Plant and Livestock Seed Joint Stock Company supplies (free of charge) 130 tons of original Khang Dan 18 rice seeds from the national reserve to Quang Tri province to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 1.
