(BGDT) - The People's Council of Bac Giang province has just issued regulations on policies to support training and development for Lao students studying abroad under the cooperation agreement with Bac Giang province.

This Resolution stipulates the policy to support training and fostering for cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students and pupils of the Lao People's Democratic Republic (abbreviated as Lao students) who are eligible for training and fostering under the cooperation agreement with Bac Giang province.

The subjects of application are Lao students participating in training and development under the cooperation agreement with Bac Giang province. Agencies, units, organizations and individuals involved in supporting the training and development of Lao students participating in training and development under the cooperation agreement with Bac Giang province.

Methods of implementing support policies include: Support for training, fostering, and accommodation costs; support for visa fees; support for monthly living expenses; support for initial grants; support for travel expenses; support for internships, thesis writing, and final graduation reports; support for the celebration of Vietnam's National Day and Laos' National Day, Vietnam's traditional New Year, and Laos' traditional New Year.

Accordingly, 100% of training, education, accommodation and visa fees are supported. Living expenses include: Intermediate and college level training is 3.08 million VND/person/month; university level training is 3.63 million VND/person/month; postgraduate level training is 4.11 million VND/person/month; training and professional knowledge improvement training with a duration of 3 months to less than 12 months is 4.82 million VND/person/month; learning Vietnamese to take entrance exams and admission to intermediate, college and university is 2.46 million VND/person/month; learning Vietnamese to take entrance exams and admission to postgraduate is 2.9 million VND/person/month.

Internships at agencies and units in Bac Giang province for less than 6 months will continue to be supported with monthly living expenses according to the support levels for each corresponding training level as prescribed in points a, b, c, d, Clause 2 of this Article.

Initial support and travel expenses include initial support for intermediate, college, university, and postgraduate training of VND 4.48 million/person. Learning Vietnamese; training and professional development with a duration of 3 months to less than 12 months VND 3.58 million/person. Travel expenses of VND 1 million/person/01 time (including round trip). Training at intermediate, college, university, and postgraduate levels, supported 02 times/course. Learning Vietnamese; training and professional development with a duration of 3 months to less than 12 months, supported 01 time/course.

Support for internship, thesis writing, and final graduation report (applicable to college, university, and postgraduate training) is 1.5 million VND/person.

Support for the celebration of Vietnam National Day and Laos National Day, Vietnam Traditional New Year and Laos Traditional New Year 150 thousand VND/person/day (number of holidays and New Year according to the regulations of the Lao and Vietnamese Governments every year).
