What is virtual filtering and university admission?
According to the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the virtual filtering process is the use of admission software to filter out candidates who have passed higher admission wishes to other schools from the expected admission list that the school sends to the system. The virtual filtering principle is as follows:
All candidates, regardless of the method of admission, will register online on the common portal of the Ministry of Education and Training within the prescribed time.
The wishes are arranged in order from one to the end, in which wish 1 is the highest.
Virtual filtering system ensures that each candidate is only admitted to one wish in one method in the list of wishes that candidates register for and are eligible to be admitted, according to the principle of prioritizing higher wishes.
At the end of the registration period, schools download the data of candidates registering for admission to their school from the software, run their own admission software and update the results of successful candidates back to the ministry's common software to run virtual filtering on the entire system.
The virtual filtering was carried out by the Ministry of Education and Training 6 times according to the process, starting from August 13 to 5:00 p.m. on August 17. After that, the schools downloaded the results of the 6th round of processing and prepared for the announcement of the admission benchmark scores.
In addition, two virtual filtering groups of schools in the North (coordinated by Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and the South (coordinated by Ho Chi Minh City National University) will also run in parallel with the general virtual filtering process of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Before 5:00 p.m. on August 17, schools will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results for universities and colleges in preschool education in 2024.
