Every Mid-Autumn Festival, Lionbooks sends children and their parents books as special gifts, so that the whole family can tell stories, watch the moon and keep warm moments together. The latest work in the Moon Stories series is titled A Wet Moon Season, still written by author Chieu Xuan and illustrated by Thanh Phan.

Mid-Autumn Festival book launch 'A wet moon season'

The story takes place in Hong Do village, a familiar destination in previous moon seasons. However, this year's Mid-Autumn Festival opens in a very different context: a sudden storm arrives. Instead of the bustling atmosphere, there are the familiar sounds of the August rainy season. The sound of wind, rain, and people calling each other to take shelter from the storm echo throughout the village.

No more bright lanterns or a performing arts stage, but the image of the whole village gathered together, sharing warmth in the rain and wind. In that storm, it was friendship, kindness and optimism that connected everyone, so that together they could happily welcome the full moon.

Author Chieu Xuan shared, "Through the story A Wet Moon, children and their parents will feel a moon that, although not complete, is still full of warmth, thanks to the solidarity, sharing and gratitude of the residents of Hong Do village. These values sow the seeds of kindness, empathy and love in children's souls."

"Moon Stories" is a Vietnamese-English bilingual book series from the perspective of small insects, bringing a Mid-Autumn Festival full of joy and warmth. "The Story of Hong Do Village" (published in 2022) and "Hanging Lanterns to Welcome the Moon" (2023) have left their own mark in the hearts of parents.

Moon Season 2025, in addition to launching the new book A Wet Moon Season, Lionbooks also republished The Story of Hong Do Village and Hanging the Lanterns to Welcome the Moon, bringing the opportunity for families to own the complete set of emotional stories.
