Ready for the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits

On September 3, in Jakarta, Indonesia, ASEAN senior officials (SOM) reviewed preparations for the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits.

ASEAN Senior Officials' Meeting (SOM) attended a meeting on September 3 to prepare for the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related summits.

Ambassador Vu Ho, Head of SOM ASEAN Vietnam, participated in this activity.

The 43rd ASEAN Summit will take place from September 5 to 7, including about 20 activities. Leaders of ASEAN countries and partners will participate in events such as the 43rd ASEAN Summit, ASEAN+1 Summits with partners China, South Korea, Japan, the United States, India, Russia, Canada and the United Nations, the ASEAN+3 Summit and the East Asia Summit.

The ASEAN SOM leaders have reviewed and basically completed the draft documents of the Summits. It is expected that on this occasion, the Leaders will approve and acknowledge nearly 100 documents on many areas of cooperation within the bloc as well as with partners and on a number of measures to improve the effectiveness of ASEAN's operations.

Reviewing activities in 2023, the SOM Heads congratulated the Indonesian Chair, highly appreciated the practical priorities in building the Community, contributing to promoting trade, investment, economic recovery, accelerating the trend of digitalization, greening and sustainable development in the region, creating momentum for ASEAN cooperation in the following years towards realizing " ASEAN Stature: The Heart of Growth" .
