Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong requested localities to quickly reinforce vulnerable points to ensure people's safety during the rainy and stormy season.

Due to the impact of the storm, heavy rain combined with floods in the upstream caused the river water level to rise, causing serious landslides in many sections of the riverbank. On the Bo River, the section through Thanh Luong 4 residential group had a landslide of about 300 m long; the section through An Thuan village (Kim Tra ward) had a landslide of nearly 700 m; the section through Niem Pho and Pho Nam A villages was about 500 m long; the section through Phuoc Yen village (Quang Dien district) was 300 m long; the section through Thanh Phuoc residential group (Hoa Chau ward) was 300 m long and the section through Phong Thai ward had a landslide of 300 m. On the O Lau River, the landslides were also serious, with the riverbank sections through Phong Dien town being about 700 m long and the section through Phong Dinh commune being more than 1,000 m long.

On-site inspection, city leaders acknowledged the efforts of the government and people in proactively responding and implementing temporary measures to limit damage.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong requested localities to quickly reinforce and handle vulnerable points on the spot, ensuring safety for people during the rainy and stormy season. At the same time, assigned functional agencies to research and propose long-term solutions to fundamentally handle landslides, combining solutions to protect river banks with landscape elements, both preventing natural disasters and serving socio -economic development, improving the living environment.

City leaders noted the need to update landslide sites in the project to build embankments and riverside traffic routes, ensuring consistency and sustainability. Investment must aim for a “two-in-one” goal: both protecting residents from natural disasters and creating motivation to expand urban space in a harmonious and friendly direction.

On the same day, the working group inspected the recovery work after storm No. 10 in many localities. Through the reality, the city leaders highly appreciated the proactive and urgent spirit of the authorities at all levels and local forces in supporting the people. Many households whose houses had their roofs blown off or damaged were helped to re-roof and repair to stabilize their housing. Affected schools were also quickly cleaned and repaired, ensuring the safety of students and teachers, creating conditions for the early restoration of teaching and learning.

Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong emphasized that localities need to continue to pay attention to supporting households in difficulty, absolutely not leaving anyone behind. At the same time, speed up the progress of repairing essential infrastructure, ensuring people's lives and activities, helping the community stabilize soon after the storm.
